Global Experiences

Bridging Cultures, Expanding Horizons

Through international coursework, globally driven organization participation, study abroad experiences, and personal adventures, I have had the privilege of learning and exploring all there is in the world.

Not only academic based experiences provided me with knowledge about different cultures. Having an international upbringing provided me with perspectives I could not have gained otherwise. Being able to adapt and understand the reason why different cultures behave, decide, and overall have different norms is something I value greatly.

I look forward to always keep learning and seeing new things when traveling and through work. I am happy to reflect on my time at UF and be confident in maximizing all my international exposure experiences.

Deutschklub (German Club)

German club has been part of my university career since Freshman year. This organization gives me the opportunity to stay connected to my roots and culture while I'm away from home. Through conversation practice (Stammtisch) and German themed GBMs, I expose myself to german culture each week.

Reflecting on These Experiences...

Participating in these Global Activities let me a learn a lot about myself by hearing from others experiences and pushing myself out of my comfort zone to adapt to situations. Through many different cultural events I learned about things I probably would never have explored otherwise. In the leadership positions for both German club and for GBS, I learned to become a liason between explaining cultural differences to those who are new or unfamiliar to differing enviornments. I really have been able to hone in on my mentorship experiences and provide insights I've learned from my study abroad and personal travels.

GBS itself has been an incredibly enriching experience because of the ability to help others feel more welcome at UF. Because of the Global Gator Guide Program I was able to meet exchange students from the Hochschule Osnabrück prior to my semester abroad, and help them acclimate to the US. But in return, they acted as my "Guide" when I was abroad which helped me settle in much easier and overall made me feel more at ease. Having experienced the benefit that being a guide for someone can have from both sides really sparked the intrinstic motivation in me to continue to give back to GBS and enable others to have similar experiences. Being on Leadership truly lets me have an impact and use my global experiences and program experiences to help both domestic and foreign students.

Being part of global engagements on campus is what made me who I am, and I am eternally grateful for the connections and opportunities I've had as a result. Being able to have such a vast array of internationalization options at UF is incredibly important, and as enriching as my study abroad semester was, I would feel confident in an international workplace later in life even if I had never left. These tools I can apply both professionally and personally. Being globally minded has set me up for success, and both membership and leadership opportunities have enabled me to be comfortable going abroad and working with diverse teams regardless of where I end up.

Language Learning Journey

My proficiency in German (C1 Level) has been a cornerstone of my international studies, allowing deep cultural immersion during my exchange at Hochschule Osnabrück. Navigating complex academic and professional environments in a second language has refined my perspective on global collaboration and adaptability.

Beyond German, my native command of English and elementary Spanish allow me to bridge diverse linguistic landscapes. I view language acquisition as a strategic tool that fosters empathy and creates meaningful connections across the evolving international business sector. My mother grew up in Italy and still speaks Italian to this day, so I was also exposed to this from a young age.

Courses I've completed:

Intermediate German
Beginning Italian
German Conversation and Communication
German in Business
Highschool Beginning + Intermediate Spanish
(Total 4 years)

International Coursework

A record of academic achievements and specialized study areas focusing on global business environments, intercultural marketing management, and cross-border digital strategies.

Courses taken abroad:
  • Information Management
  • Logistics, Procurement and Production
  • Grundlagen des Verantstaltungsmangements
  • Internship in German Company

Hochschule Osnabrück, Germany • 2024

International Business

University of Florida • 2025

Language Courses:
- Spanish
- Italian
- German
- Dutch (Duolingo)

University of Florida • Florida Gulf Coast University • Highschool

I took 3 courses while I was studying abroad in Germany, with two taught in English and one in German. The opportunity of doing an exchange allowed me to take coursework that is not offered at UF, especially with the German Event management course which provided me information through a German lens vs. the American one I was used to.
Also, working with a German but Global company enabled me to polish my professional German language skills while also utilizing my English language knowledge to their benefit.

In this course required for all UF Business Undergraduate students, I learned a lot about the basic business principles of foreign countries. I learned how to analyze the country business landscape using a PESTEL structure. Also by simulating company expansion into other countries, I understood the importance of taking differences of cultural priorities into consideration.

I grew up speaking German at home, with it technically being my first language. I learned English in elementary school while also learning basic Spanish. My mom was born and raised in Italy, so I was also exposed to Italian from a young age. I took on learning Dutch through Duolingo because of the similarities with German and English, alongside my interest in potentially living in the Netherlands later on. Languages have been part of my life for as long as I can remember, and it truly connects you further with many more parts of the world.

"Es gibt kein schlechtes Wetter, nur schlechte Kleidung"

"There is no such thing as bad weather, just bad clothing"

Being adaptable is one of the most important skills I focus on, especially in international contexts. I believe this german saying reflects this perfectly, alongside my interest in the weather.
